International Trips
As athletes progress through the development pathway a fantastic part of cross country skiing is the opportunity to travel and ski at different locations around the world as part of a team. While a number of private opportunities also exist (such as offered by Nordic Ski Academy), regular international tours are conducted by state and national teams. In both 2014/2015 and 2016/2017 Snow Australia XC operated an AUSXC Junior Development Tour to Canada, while in the alternate years 2013/2014 and 2015/2016 a similar program was run by the Victorian Junior Team.

State Team Camps
The key underpinning pathway programs for the Australian Junior Team are the State Team and Development Squads. A attractive feature of the NSW and Victorian programs in particular is the opportunity to attend training camps throughout the year.
Dryland training camps utilise training methods such as hill bounding, roller skiing, running, mountain biking, ski-specific strength workouts, stretching and recovery methods along with social and team building activities. On-snow camps and weekend clinics aim to improve athletes technique development and assist with race specific skills in the freestyle and classic disciplines. Athletes are also educated on mental training, ski preparation, nutrition, recovery and anti-doping.
Victorian Team and Development Squad Camps are held year-round in various locations such as Anglesea, Lake Mountain, Mount Beauty, Falls Creek and Warburton. NSWXC conducts training camps during non-winter months in Sydney, Jindabyne and Canberra, with on-snow camps during the winter at Perisher and Charlotte Pass.
Snow Australia Training Camps
Normally junior athletes need to have qualified for the Australian Junior Team before they have the opportunity to train with National Team coaches and athletes.
