The achievements of the AUSXC High Performance Program over the past 12 years (including 11 athletes competing at the Winter Olympics, two athletes scoring World Cup points, multiple top 30 results at World Junior and U23 Championships, the first ever World Junior Championship junior women’s team – just to name a handful) would not be possible without the support of key partners Snow Australia and the Falls Creek resort. Financial support for the XC team has more than tripled since 2004 just before Falls Creek joined forces with Snow Australia to support Australian xc ski racing.
The XC Towards 2018 fundraising project has also been crucial in supporting international competition and reducing expenses for athletes. Special mention has to be made of the Sundeck Cup, which has contributed more to the team than any other fundraising activity since 2004, and also the Spring Cocktail Night, which has greatly assisted in raising over $25K annually since 2013.
