Note. The Snow Australia XC Level 1 and Level 2 cross country skiing Officials courses are currently being reviewed for re-accreditation with the Australian Sports Commission. The intention is for the theory component of the course to be moved on-line, with supervised practical experience to be completed on-snow at events.

Level 1 XC Officials – Race Day Officials

The Level 1 XC Officials course is designed for volunteers assisting to run events on the day. The following units are covered in the course:

All six units can be delivered in one 3-hour face to face course, and soon via on-line E-learning at the participants own pace.

Level 2 XC Officials – Race Organisation

The Level 2 XC Officials course is designed to train officials to organise club, state and national races and contains the following four units.

Each unit is designed to be a stand alone unit that can be delivered in three hour face to face workshop, or online at the participants own pace. Some units have on-snow components. Officials candidates can opt to do one or all of the components.

Technical Delegates

The next level of Official within Australian cross country skiing is the Technical Delegate (TD). TD’s are responsible for ensuring that races are rfair, safe, and run according to the relevant competition rules. There are two levels of TD – FIS and National.
