Perisher Technique Workshops moved to August 13/14

Due to inclement weather and snow conditions the Coach Level 1 Technique Workshops originally scheduled for July 23/24 at Perisher have been re-scheduled for August 13/14 at the same venue. Places are still available for the new dates and interested coaches, athletes or parents can register online via the SSA website.

These workshops are presented by the ACT/NSW Winter Coach Jeremy Hecker, and cover the basics of teaching classic and freestyle cross country skiing techniques, what to look for when assessing skier technique, using apps and video for evaluating technique, and tips and tricks for getting everything to “click”. A pre-requisite for all courses is to complete the Australian Sports Commission Basic Coaching General Principles, online through the ASC website prior to attending the course.

Aside from the date, the only other changes for the workshops are the start times. The Freestyle Workshop will now be on the Saturday afternoon at the end of NSW XC Week, starting at 1:30pm, while the Classic Workshop will take place the next morning at 9:00am.
