Tullicoutty/St. Phillack Cup report

The 2014 Tullicouty and St Phillack Cups were held last Sunday 10 August at Mt Baw Baw. The 39 competitors were greeted with fresh snow and cold, gusting winds that added an extra challenge to completing the technical and undulating course. Despite the wind chill nudging past – 10 degrees there was a great atmosphere on the day with a friendly rivalry amongst the competitors of the mountain based clubs.

David Hood was the first man across the finish line in the 10km St. Phillack Cup followed by Robert Davis and Andrew Hood. While Rachel Allen was the first woman ahead of Janetta Davis and Katherine Harding.

Super Veteran Daryl Berrett was the first man to finish the 5km Tullicouty Cup,  while Erin Davis the first female across the line.

Gafia Ski Club took out the Mt Baw Baw Club Trophy on the day, which is a competition that awards points for place getters, participation and club helpers/volunteers.

Due to the small number of Skike Australia Victorian Ski Chase competitors in this years race, it’s fair to say that anyone looking to bag some handy points in next years ski chase should aim to be at the 2015 Tullicouty/St. Phillack Cup weekend. Every point counts!

A Ski Chase update is coming soon.
