FIS TD Seminar 2014 – Jindabyne/Perisher – July 31 to August 3

An FIS Technical Delegate (TD) Seminar will be held at Jindabyne / Perisher from July 31 to August 3. TD’s at cross-country races are responsible for ensuring that  the races are safe, fair and conducted in accordance with the rules. While recommended for all levels of competition in Australia, TD’s are mandatory for championship level competition and TD’s at FIS level are required for FIS competitions. The official invitation from FIS for this TD Seminar is included here:

The role of the Technical Delegate, criteria for who can become a TD, and the training and education process are described in the FIS Guidelines for the Organisation, Education and Appointment of Cross-Country Technical Delegates, Oct 2013.  You can find the FIS TD Guidelines at the link  http://www.fis-ski.com/mm/Document/documentlibrary/Cross-Country/04/19/28/TDGuidelines_2014-15_finalversion_English.pdf .  The seminar is a three day training course, leading to TD qualification, as described in the Guidelines.

The Ski & Snowboard Australia Cross Country Committee (SAXC) has a pool of active TD’s that are appointed to races in Australia and occasionally to events overseas, however this pool is aging and new TD’s are needed. Ideal TD’s are experienced cross country skiing athletes, coaches, team leaders or race organisers.

Interested persons are encouraged to attend the FIS TD Seminar and commence their TD training. To apply or for more information, please contact Andrew Walker at awalk347@gmail.com by 20 July 2014.
