Casey Wright qualifies for World Champs, World Cup

Casey Wright finished 11th in the 10km skate mass start at the Swedish Junior Championship today, achieving 113 FIS points well under the required 120 for World Cup and world championships qualification. This is a major milestone in Casey’s skiing career. The race was perfect for Casey with the leaders being very tactical and the whole race staying together in one big pack for almost 7 kilometers. Casey kept her cool and raced really well in these conditions, staying with leaders for most of this time. The pace quickened towards the end but Casey managed to minimise the losses and put in a really fast finish to be only 1m 10s back. The other Australian juniors Anna Trnka and Xanthea Dewez were both feeling fatigued from the last week and chose not to race.
