The other English speakers

The sun is still shining here in Seefeld for our pre-Uni Games training, making for some more gorgeous skiing adventures, however also melting some of the snow. A few dirty patches or rocks never stopped an Australian though, in fact I think my agility has even improved this week as a result of jumping and hopping over the hazards in the trails!

One of the real challenges I’ve faced so far is trying to communicate with the locals, as I don’t really understand anything more than ‘hi’ or ‘bye’ unless it’s said incredibly slowly. Usually I find my self laughing, nodding and smiling, then walking away hoping I haven’t offended anyone with an inappropriate response. In light of this, it’s been nice to have a few more english speakers around this week.
