XC Towards 2014 Cocktail Party – October 10

XC Towards 2014 is a fundraising project of the Ski & Snowboard Australia Cross Country Committee. In recent years the project’s main fundraising activity has been the Sundeck Cup at Perisher, however this winter the project has gained momentum and funds raised in 2013 have already doubled that of 2012. Keeping the skis gliding a fundraising Cocktail Party will be held in Armadale in Melbourne on the evening of Thursday October 10.

Cocktail-Fundraiser_Oct2013The evening will provide the opportunity to socialise with and show your support for National Team athletes and coaches and some of our Olympic hopefuls for Sochi 2014. A range of goods, services and offers will be available at a silent auction. More details are available in this linked PDF invitation, and tickets can be bought online at the TryBooking http://www.trybooking.com/63224 website.

All funds raised go towards international athlete expenses, including for the Shadow Team preparing for Sochi 2014 and the Australian Teams at the 2014 World Junior and U23 Championship. Already accommodation expenses for athletes at all World Cup events and at the Junior/U23 Championship can be covered. The next goals include land transport costs, waxing expenses, and potentially contributions towards athletes’ airfares. With each athlete on the Junior/U23 team needing to raise at least $6,000 in order to prepare for and compete at the World Championship, every donation counts.

For more details about the team program and for anyone interested in donating to the silent auction, please read this fundraising flyer below.
