Finn and his coaches, Ben Sim, Ewan, Darcy and Sarah ran an excellent intensive 2 day camp for the Sydney athletes. These young skiers are now enthused with a dream that they may well be in the running for selection for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games.
Comment from Jill Colebourn “Finn explained the pathway to the World Championships and Olympics really well. For the first time, I actually understood it.”
Sophie Lewis asked Ben Sim “How do we get into the World Junior Championships?” Ben’s answer was straightforward and easy to understand. It was clear the athletes had to be perform well enough to attain the 195 FIS points or less.
The athletes learnt skills in hill bounding, roller ski techniques to be replicated when on-snow, strength and endurance work besides other technical work including information and video sessions. These athletes worked hard and felt privileged to learn from Australia’s best.
Well done to AusXC for continuing to promote this sport to our young athletes.
Finn, Ben, Ewan and Darcy, Thanks for runnig a great roller skiing camp. We are looking forward to the next one. Regards, Garry
